Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Introduction

DepthLoop ("we", "us", or "our") operates the DepthLoop web application available at depthloop.com and app.depthloop.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. We use this to authenticate you and communicate with you about your account. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, which stores your login details on our behalf. We also keep a record of your account type, your plan, and your export balance where applicable.

2.2 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. We do not receive or store your card number or full billing details. From Lemon Squeezy we receive and keep: an order reference, the name and email address on the order, the amount paid, and — for Pro subscriptions — the subscription identifier, whether it is monthly or yearly, its status, its renewal or end date, and a link to your Lemon Squeezy customer portal. We use this to decide whether your account has Pro and to let you manage your subscription.

2.3 Content You Upload

Images and photos you upload or import are processed entirely in your browser using WebGL. We do not upload, store, or have access to the images or videos you use to create animations.

2.4 Google Photos Integration

If you choose to connect your Google account, DepthLoop may access your Google Photos library solely to: (a) let you import photos and videos from your library into the app, and (b) upload generated animations back to your Google Photos library at your explicit request. Media accessed from Google Photos is processed locally in your browser and is never stored on our servers. We do not sell, share, or use your Google Photos data for advertising purposes. Our use of data obtained from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

2.5 DepthLoop for Canva

If you use the DepthLoop app inside Canva, we receive an identifier for your Canva user from Canva. We use it to keep track of your export balance and any purchase you make in that app. We do not receive your Canva designs other than the videos you choose to create with DepthLoop.

2.6 Usage Data

We use Google Analytics on depthloop.com and app.depthloop.com to understand how the site and app are used — for example, which pages are viewed and which features are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as your browser, device and approximate location. We look at this data in aggregate to improve the product and do not use it for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the DepthLoop service
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription
  • Determine your plan and which features you can export
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve and develop new features
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Account data is stored securely on servers hosted by our infrastructure providers. We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

5. Cookies

We use cookies that are required to sign you in and keep you logged in, and Google Analytics cookies to measure how the site and app are used. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings: blocking sign-in cookies will prevent you from logging in, while blocking analytics cookies does not affect how DepthLoop works. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may process your data under their own privacy policies:
  • Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and subscription management
  • Clerk — account sign-in and authentication
  • Canva — only if you use the DepthLoop app inside Canva
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics for the website and app
  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and hosting
  • Google (Google Photos) — optional integration to import media from and upload animations to your Google Photos library, governed by the Google Privacy Policy

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@codebits.dev.

9. Children's Privacy

DepthLoop is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
